He has trekked through some of the world’s highest mountain ranges, spoken with traditional collectors, and studied the delicate balance of minerals that makes Shilajit so unique. Zafar’s passion goes beyond delivering a product. He wants to provide knowledge that is based on experience so the customers can make informed decisions. Founding Story

The story of Opure starts thousands of kilometres away, on the rugged northern slopes of Pakistan. Our founder, Zafar Yaqoob, first became interested in Shilajit after reading ancient Ayurvedic texts that labelled it as the “conqueror of mountains.” Wanting to see the process for himself, Zafar spent seven years travelling to remote Himalayan regions, meeting local collectors, and studying how the dark, nutrient-rich resin forms naturally in rock crevices.

But the findings came as a shock to him. Many sellers were cutting corners by boiling the resin to remove impurities, a method that strips away important minerals and reduces potency. Others simply mixed dirt and debris into the product before straining it. After being scammed multiple times, Zafar realised that to obtain authentic Shilajit, he needs to control every step of the process.

In 2019, Zafar founded Opure with a goal to offer 100% pure, sun-dried Himalayan Shilajit. Without the shortcuts, no dilution, and no loss of minerals. He set up a dedicated filtration and purification facility in Lahore, Pakistan, where raw Shilajit rocks are collected sustainably, hand cleaned, and carefully sun-dried.

Sun-drying is crucial because it preserves the delicate balance of fulvic acid, trace minerals, and bioactive compounds that give Shilajit its legendary reputation for supporting energy, vitality, and overall health. Each batch is also tested by independent third-party labs, ensuring that every jar you receive is as pure as nature intended.
